A Lens on where we spend our lives
As a photographer, few things excite me more than capturing the story of a thoughtfully designed workspace. Workspaces are where we spend a massive portion of our lives—eight hours a day, five days a week, often more. It’s where we make decisions, collaborate, problem-solve, and grow both professionally and personally. So when a workspace is carefully planned and beautifully designed, it deserves to be seen, shared, and celebrated.
Design That Impacts Wellbeing
A well-designed workspace isn't just about aesthetics—it's about how a space functions, how it feels, and how it supports the people who use it every day. More and more, companies are recognizing that good design has a direct impact on both mental and physical health. Natural light, acoustics, ergonomic furniture, materials that feel good to touch, and even the color palette can all influence mood, productivity, and well-being.
That’s why I find workspace photography so rewarding. It allows me to showcase not just the look of a space, but its atmosphere. My aim is always to reflect the energy of the people who will work there, and the vision behind its design.
Capturing the McFadden Office: Design with Purpose
One recent project that really resonated with me was photographing the new McFadden office—a stunning transformation led by the talented interior designer Callum Howie. The brief was ambitious and meaningful: create a sophisticated, design-led interior that embodies the McFadden brand.
McFadden, known for their innovation and quality in the construction industry, wanted a workspace that reflected their identity while also fostering stronger collaboration between their office and site teams. Callum approached the design with deep sensitivity, blending function with storytelling. The result was a space that balances refined detailing and material richness with playful nods to McFadden’s roots—from miniature toy site machinery to a retro petrol pump, these thoughtful touches bring personality and a sense of pride into the daily work experience.
Photographing this project was a joy. Every corner of the space had a story to tell. Through my lens, I wanted to highlight not only the elegance of the design but also the intention behind it—the way the space connects people to their brand, their history, and each other.
A New Standard for Workspaces
Spaces like McFadden’s office are setting a new standard for what the workplace can and should be. They remind us that a well-designed environment isn’t just a backdrop for work—it’s an active participant in how we work, feel, and connect.
Whether it’s a minimalist studio, a bustling open-plan office, or a hybrid home workspace, I’m passionate about capturing the unique beauty and purpose behind each environment. Great design deserves great photography—and I’m honored to be the one behind the camera, bringing those visions to life.
